About the Conference and the opportunities it presents

Introduction:

Telecommunications in AfricaThe inaugural Africa-Australia Infrastructure Conference 2012 will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour, Sydney,  3-4 September 2012. It is a 2-day event designed for Australian investors and developers aspiring to invest in infrastructure assets in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Conference will also give Industry leaders and Government representatives from Africa a platform to promote infrastructure opportunities in their countries including a wide range of attractive Private Public Partnerships (PPP) and other contractual projects spread across Africa.

As many African Governments break-up monopolies on utilities and spearhead privatisation of infrastructure assets across the continent, there is no better time to enter the African infrastructure business space than now.

The coming Infrastructure Conference 2012 will explore trade and investment opportunities in four sectors namely:

  • Telecommunication & ICT
  • Transport including Rail and Maritime
  • Energy
  • Oil and Gas

The Conference will educate participants on tested strategies needed to successfully negotiate and establish contractual agreements for Private Public Partnerships (PPP) with industry leaders and representatives of Governments in Africa.

The Sydney event will equally review successful business stories coming out of Africa in the last decade. Representatives from African multinationals will share critical lessons learnt from starting and successfully expanding their businesses across African countries. Business leaders from successful multi-national companies in Africa will be invited as special guests at the Conference.

The event contents include:

  • Groundbreaking market knowledge from industry leaders and Government representatives from Africa through presentations and panel discussions
  • Experiential knowledge from International Funding Institutions currently doing business in Africa’s Infrastructure sector will be shared.
  • Unparalleled networking opportunities, both at the conference, breakout sessions, and during the social program.
  • The full deal-making chain including African Government agencies, Regional Bodies, Global Institutions and Private sector representatives among others.

In this section you will find brief synopses on the four main infrastructure segments this Conference will cover: EnergyICT & TelecomsTransport , and Oil & Gas.
